DPWH Constructs P82-M Flood Mitigation Structure in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has constructed a flood control structure along the Digmala River in the Municipality of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija to protect residential areas and farmlands from threats of inundation.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, based on submitted reports from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the flood mitigation structure in Barangay Ariendo in Bongabon town has a total length of 719.2 lineal meters.

New Flood Control Structure Built in Abulug, Cagayan

The completion of Canayun-Sirit-Dana-Ili Flood Control Project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) provides better protection for residents near river bank of Abulug River in Barangay Sirit, Abulug, Cagayan.

Citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 2 OIC Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the project primarily aims to protect the lives and properties of the nearby residents especially during typhoon and rainy season.

River Wall Project to Safeguard Residents of Vintar, Ilocos Norte

In line with its mandate to protect lives and properties from natural disasters, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 216-meter flood control project in Sitio Namnama, Barangay Alsem, Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan commended Ilocos Norte First District Engineering Office for the on-time construction of the flood wall along the Vintar River also known as Bislak River.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has facilitated improved mobility in Aurora Province by constructing a new bridge linking the communities of Barangay Dibut and Barangay Dibalo via Barangay Real in the Municipality of San Luis.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the two (2) rural communities are now better-connected by a 90-lineal meter concrete bridge.

DPWH to Maximize Utilization of 2022 Funds, Will Carry Out Projects Supportive of Mandated Functions in 2023

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Roger G. Mercado emphasized that overall preparedness of DPWH implementing offices will enable maximum utilization of funds allocated for the Department in Fiscal Year 2022.

While budget to complete our several high-impact projects under the multi-year program is insufficient, the least we could do is to see to it that available money allocated in the Central Office and different Regions will be spent, Secretary Mercado said during the DPWH Unified Directors’ Meeting.
