DPWH Fast Tracking Flagship Bypass Road Project in Davao City, Working Simultaneously on Both Ends Of 2.3-Km Road Mountain Tunnel

A new milestone was reached by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Davao City Bypass Construction Project with excavation works for the 2.3-kilometer twin tube road mountain tunnel now conducted at four (4) areas north and south portals.

A new milestone was reached by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Davao City Bypass Construction Project with excavation works for the 2.3-kilometer twin tube road mountain tunnel now conducted at four (4) areas north and south portals.

Restored Capitol Building Now an Attraction in Sorsogon

The Department of Public Works and Highways completed the restoration and renovation of the 105-year old Capitol Building in Sorsogon City.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the renovated Sorsogon Provincial Capitol is a one-stop building that houses all provincial department offices.

With a ₱99-million allocation, the Capitol was restored back to its original neo-classic design.

Restored Capitol Building Now an Attraction in Sorsogon

The Department of Public Works and Highways completed the restoration and renovation of the 105-year old Capitol Building in Sorsogon City.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the renovated Sorsogon Provincial Capitol is a one-stop building that houses all provincial department offices.

With a ₱99-million allocation, the Capitol was restored back to its original neo-classic design.

DPWH Improves Tourism Infra in Ilocos Sur

Better facilities and smoother travel await tourists visiting local destinations in Northern Luzon with two (2) infrastructure projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Citing a report from DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that tourists visiting the 85-foot Pinsal Falls in Barangay Baballasioan in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur may now use the multi-storey building implemented by DPWH Ilocos Sur District Engineering Office.

With efforts to alleviate flooding in low-lying areas nationwide, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructs a flood control structure along Binahaan River in the municipality of Dagami, Leyte.

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that the project, as reported by DPWH Region 8 Director Allan S. Borromeo, involves five-meter tall gabion walls measuring 350 lineal meters at the downstream and 366 lineal meters upstream of Binahaan River.

Mercado Orders Assessment of National Roads in Sorsogon Affected by Mt. Bulusan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently conducting inspection and monitoring of national roads and bridges affected by the phreatic eruption or ash fall of Mt. Bulusan in the Province of Sorsogon.

Per instruction from DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado and Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that although all national roads are currently passable, maintenance teams have installed warning signs along intermittent portions of Daang Maharlika that have ash fall in the towns of Juban, and Casiguran.
