DPWN-NCR June 19-22 Road Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of June 19, Friday to 5 AM of June 22, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon and Pasig:

Quezon City

  1. Along Payatas Road from Farmers St. to Visayas St. (2nd lane, North bound); and
  2. Along E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave./C-5 from Poseidon St. to Greenmeadows Ave. (4th lane from sidewalk, South bound).

Forum on Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike Project

A consultation/dialogue between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), fisherfolk organizations in affected communities and civil society organizations was recently held at the Ateneo de Manila University for the proposed Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike Project (LLEDP). LLEDP is a Public-Private Partnership project that involves the construction of a 47-kilometer expressway-dike from Taguig City to Los Baños City, Laguna. The discussion was organized by NGOs for Fisheries Reform, Inc. and Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies Inc. (PHILSSA).

  1. Along Payatas Road from Visayas St. to Zamora St. (1st lane, North bound).

Road Improvement Project Leading to Gumasa White Sand Beaches of Sarangani Completed

The road leading to the white sand beaches of Gumasa in the municipality of Glan in Sarangani Province is now safer and wider.

In less than a year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road concreting and widening of two (2) routes along Sarangani – Davao del Sur Coastal Road leading to Gumasa Beach. The project was implemented under the Department of Tourism-DPWH Convergence Program on Enhancing Tourism Access in Soccsksargen Region.

DPWH Finishes Road Upgrade of 2 Middle Lanes Along España Blvd

Two middle lanes of España Boulevard from P. Campa Street to N. Reyes Street are now open to motorists after thirteen (13) days of round-the-clock road improvement works.

This was after Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) finished early Wednesday (June 18) the Stage 2 of the Concreting with Drainage Improvement of España Boulevard or the construction on 762.6-square meter middle lanes of España Boulevard.

Heavy Loaded Truck Causes Bridge Partial Collapse in Agusan del Sur

Tagabaka bailey bridge along Butuan City - Talacogon - Loreto - Veruela - Sta. Fe National secondary road in Agusan del Sur partially collapsed due to passage of heavy loaded truck.

According to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 13 Director Danilo Verzola, the bailey bridge capacity is only for five (5) tons, however, overloaded cargo trucks weighing 25 to 35 tons are passing along that route.

Trucks loaded with falcata logs are usually passing through that bridge, Verzola added.
