DPWH Kicks Off Construction of Flood Control Structure in Dingalan, Aurora

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is building a flood control structure inside the Dingalan Feeder Port in Barangay Paltic in Dingalan, Aurora.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) is overseeing the construction of the P47.53-million project for optimal protection against coastal flooding.

The 355-linear meter flood control structure is going to replace old gabion retaining walls inside the port that have been damaged by strong storms resulting to deterioration over the years.

DPWH Joins DepEd’s Oplan Balik Eskwela

All Regional and District Engineering Offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are now coordinating with public elementary and high schools’ nationwide to support the conduct of Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) of the Department of Education (DepEd).

As instructed by DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH DPWH Assistant Secretary Antonio V. Molano Jr. issued a memorandum ordering ROs and DEOs across the country to implement maintenance activities and programs in public schools prior to the reopening of face-to-face classes this year.

DPWH Making Steady Progress in the Construction of Panguil Bay Bridge

The on-going design and build of Panguil Bay Bridge Project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is progressing steadily.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain said that overall progress for the construction of Panguil Bay Bridge, an inter-island mega bridge connecting Tangub City, Misamis Occidental and Tubod, Lanao Del Norte, is at 56 percent to date.

Coastal Road Paved for Tourism Development in Sipalay, Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished paving a 3.5-kilometer coastal road to facilitate better access to various white sand beaches and other potential tourist destinations in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the project involves upgrading of the coastal road from gravel to concrete with construction of slope protection, installation of metal guard rails, and provision of post and hazard markers and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is optimistic that the construction of retarding basins will make flood hazard area in Cavite more resilient during rainy season and swift changes of global weather.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar expressed confidence that the Flood Risk Management Project for Imus River is the most viable solution to mitigate damage on areas vulnerable to flooding in Imus and Bacoor, Cavite.

We have high hopes that this project will reduced flood risk to local homes and businesses, said Secretary Villar.
