Improvement of Road to Boost Tourism in Zamboanga Sibugay

More tourists are expected to visit the white sand of Kigay Sandbar Beach in the Municipality of Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay with the improvement of the tourism road by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The access road leading to Kigay Sandbar Beach Falls is one of the convergence projects under the Tourism Roads Infrastructure Program (TRIP) of DPWH and the Department of Tourism (DOT).

DPWH Builds Breakwater Structure in Sorsogon City

The Department of Public Works and Highways is undertaking the construction and maintenance of Bacon Boulevard Breakwater Structure in Barangay Poblacion, Sorsogon City.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the on-going structure involves the construction of 615.28-linear breakwater structure.

The project consists of four (4) contract packages: Packages 1 and 2 with a combined length of 286.78 linear meters, completed in November 2021.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of a 3.36-kilometer road network of Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga.

Implemented by DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO), the P39.19-million concreting of two-lane road will facilitate safer, more convenient, and faster travel inside the airbase operated by the Philippine Air Force.

Implemented by DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office in the landslide-prone Barangay Santiago, the project consists of active slope works using high tensile wire with 19.29 lineal-meter grouted riprap and line canal on the mountain side.

2 Improved Local Roads Benefit Residents, Farmers in Tarlac

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently constructed two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) benefiting both residents and farmers in the Municipality of Camiling and Tarlac City.

According to DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, the DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) oversaw the improvement into concrete of the local roads with a combined length of 1.32 kilometers.
