Construction of Retarding Basins to Solve Cavite Flooding Woes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is optimistic that the construction of retarding basins will make flood hazard area in Cavite more resilient during rainy season and swift changes of global weather.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar expressed confidence that the Flood Risk Management Project for Imus River is the most viable solution to mitigate damage on areas vulnerable to flooding in Imus and Bacoor, Cavite.

We have high hopes that this project will reduced flood risk to local homes and businesses, said Secretary Villar.

Villar: Newly-opened subsection of CALAx to cater to 5,000 motorists daily

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Tuesday led the ceremonial opening of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx) Sub-section 5 from Silang East Interchange to Sta Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange in Cavite.

“While this pandemic may have slowed down and disrupted the implementation of projects, the Sub-section 5 or 5.14 kilometers Silang East Interchange to Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange component of Cavite Laguna Expressway or CALAX Project was completed and will be now opened to public use,” said Secretary Villar during the event.

Access Road to Agusan Del Norte Industrial Estate Economic Zone Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is undertaking the construction of an access road leading to Nasipit Agusan del Norte Industrial Estate Special Economic Zone (NANIE-SEZ) in Barangay Camagong, Nasipit Agusan del Norte.

With a total length of 39.81 kilometers, the project will traverse Sitio Hinandayan to Sitio Minbahandi in the municipality of Nasipit and ends at the boundary of Region 13 and Region 10 in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is undertaking the construction of an access road leading to Nasipit Agusan del Norte Industrial Estate Special Economic Zone (NANIE-SEZ) in Barangay Camagong, Nasipit Agusan del Norte.

DPWH Paves Road to Mung Bean Industry in Isabela

A newly-paved road constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now benefitting rice and mung bean planters of Santiago, Isabela by reducing the transport cost of crops.

“With paved road, we are ensuring a more efficient transport of goods and local products in the area, which will uplift the economic condition of residents,” said DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

The construction of Rizal-Salvador-Divisoria Road in Santiago, Isabela received funding from 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA) and was implemented from May 2021 to August 2021.
