8 farm-to-market road projects in Cagayan completed

The completion of eight (8) farm-to-market road (FMR) projects costing P40 Million by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in various municipalities of the Province of Cagayan will facilitate increase local trade and productivity.

Citing a report from DPWH Region 2 OIC-Director Loreta M. Malaluan, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the roads will improve delivery of farm produce to trading centers, provide better access to basic social services such as schools and health centers, and reduce transport costs and travel time by fifty percent.

VILLAR: Skyway Stage 3 Main Alignment will substantially be completed before the end of year

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced the substantial completion of the main alignment of Skyway Stage 3 within the year.

"To ease traffic congestion in EDSA and C5, we are targeting to open two lanes, one of the northbound and southbound section of the main alignment of Skyway Stage 3. By the end of this year, we expect the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, an 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway stretched over Metro Manila from Buendia, Makati City to Balintawak, Quezon City, to be completed" Villar noted.

Villar Signs MOA on Ease of Doing Business and to Attract Investments

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) joined 35 other agencies in supporting the government anti-red tape initiatives in line with the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s directive on further easing doing business and make the Philippines more attractive to investors.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar signed Monday, September 2, 2019 the newly-enhanced Investment Promotions Unit Network (IPU Net) Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) increasing the collaboration among government agencies directly involved in the establishment of business and investments projects.

Expansion in Valenzuela state university building currently in the works

Construction of additional floors by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the College of Education and Science building of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) Main Campus in Maysan, Valenzuela City is in full swing with the set completion by December 2019.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, Metro Manila Third District Engineer Casiano P. De Guzman said that the construction of four (4) additional floors will address the university’s problem on classroom shortage.
