DPWH Improves Accessibility in Tarlac with Bridge Widening, Bypass Road Construction

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of two (2) projects to facilitate better and efficient transportation in the province of Tarlac.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino reported to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo that the P305.91-million parallel bridge to the existing San Francisco Bridge and the P105.6-million Concepcion-Mabalacat Bypass Road are currently in the works under the implementation of the regional office’s Construction Division.

Riverbank Protection Structures Completed in Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed riverbank protection structures along the left and right banks of the Binalbagan River in the municipality of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the construction of slope protection on steel sheet pile, embankment, and reinforced concrete wall with parapet with a total length of 392 lineal meters on both sides will prevent streambank erosion or failure.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed riverbank protection structures along the left and right banks of the Binalbagan River in the municipality of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the construction of slope protection on steel sheet pile, embankment, and reinforced concrete wall with parapet with a total length of 392 lineal meters on both sides will prevent streambank erosion or failure.

DPWH Improves Road Connecting Pagadian and Zamboanga City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed maintenance work along the national road connecting the cities of Pagadian and Zamboanga City thereby enhancing transport connectivity in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the preventive maintenance of the 600-meter portion of Pagadian City-Zamboanga City Road was done to address wear-and-tear on road pavement.

The project involved asphalt overlay and installation of road safety markers and thermoplastic pavement markings to improve road visibility.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently constructed a flood mitigation structure along Coronel River in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.

The 830-lineal-meter flood control structure will act as the first line of defense of the communities against overflowing of Coronel River during typhoon season.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan emphasized the significant role of the flood control structure in reducing flood impact to agricultural lands and residential communities.
