Public Infra Damage due to ‘Karding’ Reaches ₱135 M

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) estimates Typhoon Karding’s partial cost of damage to national roads, bridges, and flood-control structures is currently estimated at ₱135.09 Million.

As of Wednesday, September 28, 2022, assessment of damage to roads has reached ₱34.71 million, bridges at ₱22.39 million, and flood-control structures at ₱77.99 million. The reported cost will be subject to field validation.

DPWH Bags Top Award from CSC ‘Contact Center ng Bayan’

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was recognized as the top government agency during the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC’s) Contact Center ng Bayan (CCB) 10th Year Anniversary Virtual Summit held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

‘Contact Center ng Bayan’, since it was established in 2012, is among the complaint mechanism being managed by the DPWH Stakeholders Relations Service.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has identified nine (9) total road closures due to Typhoon ‘Karding’ as of 12 noon of Monday, September 26, 2022.

According to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, one (1) road in the Cordillera Administrative Region, one (1) in Region 1, two (2) in Region 2, four (4) in Region 3, and one (1) in Region 4-A are currently closed due to safety reason, damaged pavement, landslides, flooding and fallen electrical post brought about by the typhoon.
