Secure Overhead Cranes, Building Contractors Told - DPWH

Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio L. Singson has urged private building contractors to secure their overhead cranes installed on top of buildings undergoing construction particularly those within the path of Typhoon Ruby.

With reports of PAGASA that typhoon Ruby is categorized as super typhoon, Singson made this call to avert untoward incident to happen.

“Strong winds may topple these overhead cranes if not properly secured,” said Singson.

Singson added that overhead cranes may not only cause damage to the structure itself but also poses danger to the people living within the vicinity of the construction site.:
