DPWH Gets Briefing on PPP Code Law Framework

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) embraces the newly enacted Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code of the Philippines also known as Republic Act No. 11966, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., last December 5, 2023, through a comprehensive forum.

The PPP Code is identified as a priority measure of the Marcos administration which furthers the President’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda placing an extensive focus on job creation through the promotion of trade and investments and improving infrastructure.

DPWH Conducts Policy Dialogue Meeting on Korean-Assisted IFPS

Officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) of the Republic of Korea and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) held an open discussion on the on-going and pipeline infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs) under Official Development Assistance (ODA) financing by Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (KEDCF).

DPWH Bridge Project Connects Farming Communities in Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a bridge that is now benefiting farmers and locals in Barangay Burol, General Mamerto, Nueva Ecija.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Y. Trinidad reported the completion of a 2-lane bridge spanning 25 meters complete with railings and solar-powered street lights to provide additional safety during low visibility conditions.

DPWH Completes Flood Mitigation Project in Infanta, Pangasinan

The Department of Public Works and Highways recently completed its newest flood mitigation initiative along the Bayambang River in Infanta Pangasinan.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel A. Bonoan, Region I Director Ronnel Tan said that the project implemented in the flood-prone part of Barangay Bayambang involved the construction of reinforced concrete revetment complemented by rigid floodwalls along the 403-meter section of the Bayambang River.

Other scope of works covers the installation of steel sheet piles and strategic soil embankment measures.

3.7-kilometer Road Improvement Works to Enhance Trade in South Cotabato

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is implementing road upgrading projects in the municipalities of Koronadal and Tupi in South Cotabato that are seen to ensure road safety and boost trading activities in Central Mindanao.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim said that the two (2) projects, involving the asphalt overlaying works and reblocking of damage road sections along Maharlika Highway, are being implemented with combined allocation of ₱335.5 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
