
More motorists may soon utilize a wider road in Polomok, South Cotabato as the Marbel-Makar Road widening project is set for completion this year.
Department of Public Works ang Highways (DPWH) Region 12 OIC-Director Basir M. Ibrahim said the two (2) road widening projects along an 8-kilometer portion of Marbel-Makar Road in Polomok are now 76 percent completed.
“We are 6 percent ahead of schedule and we hope that before the end of 2017, our aim to widen the road from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes will be fully-accomplished,” said OIC-Director Ibrahim.
The widening of Marbel-Makar Road will benefit travelers going to the Port of General Santos City which is expected to increase during Christmas holidays.
The multi-million projects are chunks of the road widening program being implemented all over Soccsksargen Region by the DPWH Regional Office 12.
“These widening projects are part of our pursuit in establishing quality arterial roads in compliance to the policy instruction of DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar,” added OIC-Director Ibrahim.
