
It is 21.339% work accomplishment for the ILSUNG CONSTRUCTION CO. LTD. in their on-going construction of the Samar Pacific Coastal Road (SPCR) Project located in Brgy. Simora, Palapag, second district of Northern Samar.
In its Monthly Progress Report No. 13 covering the period April 26, 2019 to May 25, 2019, the project has actual cumulative accomplishment of 21.339% stating though that it is behind schedule by (-) 3.423% compared to the scheduled cumulative accomplishment of 24.762%.
The contract expiry date has been extended from March 12, 2020 to May 11, 2020 per approved Contract Time Extension No. 1 for a sixty (60) calendar day’s period.
Specific work components is embankment preparation from beginning point of the project (Sta. 0+000) to Sta. 0+400 which is partially complete and is now being utilized as access road to Abutment A of Simora Bridge and to reach the motorized bancas ferrying the contractor’s equipment and materials across the Catubig River.
Other activities include driving of H-Piles column of crane way for the Simora Bridge, preparation for bored piling at Abutment A and placing and compaction of subbase materials for trial section in preparation for PCCP between stations 2+500 and 2+600.
The SPCR project aims to construct an 18.6472 kilometer Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) that will directly connect by land travel poblacion Palapag with Brgy. Simora in the mainland Northern Samar province.
Other works include the construction of three (3) bridges located in Barangays Simora and Jangtud with total length of 261.0 linear meters.
Once completed it will become a major road link between the neighbor province of Northern and Eastern Samar and finally completes the circumferential/loop road of the whole Samar Island.
Further, travel time in transporting goods and services from the mainland province including the capital town Catarman to the Pacific towns is expected to lessen substantially.
