
Students of Pigcawayan National High School in Pigcawayan, Cotabato now have a new conducive place for learning after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over a completed three (3) storey school building project constructed in the amount of P26.5-million.
The new school building will benefit some 200 junior high school students of the Special Program in the Arts and with the Technology and Livelihood Education Laboratory located on the first floor.
The project implemented by DPWH Cotabato 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) is equipped with fire sprinkler system as a safety building feature for both students and school personnel in case of fire incident.
“More classrooms mean more opportunity to quality education for the youth of Cotabato,” DPWH Cotabato 1st DEO OIC-District Engineer Eliseo L. Otoc said.
The new school building project is backed by the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF), a convergence program between DPWH and the Department of Education (DepEd).
