South Cotabato saw the completion of three (3) farm-to-market roads (FMRs) and two (2) bridge projects that now boost the agricultural productivity of farmers in Barangay Ned in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) South Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) District Engineer Khalil Sultan reported a total of 13.09 kilometers of concreted FMRs, namely: 6.96 kilometers of Block 2-Antual- K’batang Road, 3.43 kilometers Tinugas-Lawaan Road, and 2.70 kilometers of Block 4-Seven Lakes Road.

Two (2) bridges in Sitio K’batang and Antual were also built with lengths of 10 and 20 meters respectively.

“With these projects, transport of goods and other farm products to the market center becomes safe, fast, and convenient; benefitting the agricultural barangay of Ned which is home to the indigenous T'bolis, Tirurays, Ubos, and Manobos,” said District Engineer Sultan.

The newly-completed roads costing P150.9 million are funded under the Department of Agriculture’s (DAR) Mindanao Sustainable Agrarian and Agriculture Development (MinSAAD) Program.
