The Department of Public Works Highways (DPWH) aims to complete this first quarter of 2020 the construction of an additional 2-lane bridge to augment capacity of the existing 2-lane Dauis Bridge in Barangay Marivelles, Dauis town, Panglao Island, Bohol Province.
Citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 7 Director Edgar B. Tabacon, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the ongoing Dauis Bridge 2 Project along Junction Dauis-Panglao Road is currently 61 percent completed.
“With good weather, very soon locals and tourists traversing Dauis-Panglao Road will be able to utilize a new 4-lane bridge,” said Secretary Villar.
“The upgrading of bridge from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes is done simultaneously with our widening of the entire Dauis-Panglao Road which serves as the fastest route to the new Bohol-Panglao International Airport,” added Secretary Villar.
The new 20-meter Dauis Bridge 2 funded under the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA) is being implemented by DPWH Bohol First District Engineer Office (DEO).
