
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is implementing a total of 15 public building projects in various areas of Siquijor Province, Central Visayas.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, citing a report from DPWH Siquijor District Engineer Elvis G. Calunod, said that small public building facilities with combined cost of P21.65 million are being built in different phases to support 15 barangays of Siquijor town.
Projects which include multi-purpose buildings and covered courts will benefit residents of Barangays San Antonio, Luzong, Tacloban, Sabang, Pasihagon, Candanay, Caticugan, Bolos, Tongo, Songculan, Cangmatnog, Tambisan, Canal, Candanay, and Panlautan.
“These facilities now have a consolidated accomplishment of 76 percent. We hope to finish the ongoing contracts by the first semester of the year,” said District Engineer Calunod.
The public building projects are implemented under 2019 DPWH Local Infrastructure Program which aims to assist local government units that are in need infrastructure facilities to provide service to constituents.
