DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson together with Assistant Secretary Eugenio R. Pipo conducts inspection on major infrastructure projects in Cagayan Valley.
The DPWH was warmly welcomed by Regional Director Melvin B. Navarro together with the District Engineers and Regional Office employees at the Regional Office on March 28, 2014.
In his visit, Secretary Singson took opportunity to confer with Director Navarro and the members of the regional staff relative to the implementation of major infrastructure projects including open forum with employees relative to their concerns and issues.
The group went to conduct ocular inspection of PMO implemented projects in Isabela namely the Lullutan bridge and Sta. Maria Cabagan bridge.
March 29, 2014, the Honorable Secretary went on to conduct project inspection of the Magapit-Sta.Ana Road, Magapit-Mission Jct. Section in Lallo, Cagayan a World Bank funded project that involves the improvement of about 23.72 kilometers of secondary national roads in the Cagayan Valley Region under the National Roads Improvement and Management Program Phase II. He also inspected the newly retrofitted Magapit Suspension Bridge.
Secretary Singson also visited the women road workers at Abulug, Cagayan where the women laborers were installing thermoplastic pavement markings. The Secretary expressed his gladness seeing women doing non-traditional jobs in Region 2. The Secretary commended DPWH Regional Office 02 for initiating the women empowerment project that looks to break barriers in gender equality and job generation.
The Secretary inspected on-going construction of major bridges along Manila North Road namely Lucban bridge, Pamplona bridge and Namuac bridge.
