
Various road projects were completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) South Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) that created a safer and seamless road network that is seen to provide competitive economic and tourism advantage to the Province of South Cotabato.
DPWH, in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Tourism (DOT), delivered the completion of CY 2019 Convergence Road Projects which include the concreting of Bacdulong Road leading to Lake Sebu Circumferential Road; Poblacion-Lake Sebu Road leading to T’daan Kini in Barangay Lamlahak, Lake Sebu; and Lang Dulay Road leading to the site of T’nalak weavers in the municipality of T’boli.
Other projects accomplished in the T’boli town are Poblacion-T’boli Road to Barangay Laconon leading to Bakneb River Cave Road; concreting of Poblacion Road to Barangay Kematu leading to Hidak Falls, Panamin Village and Kematu Mining Area; concreting of Poblacion Road to Barangay Lamhaku leading to El Kini Hot Spring; and concreting of Road from Poblacion-T’boli to Barangay Salacafe leading to jump-off point to Lake Holon and Mt. Melibingoy.
According to DPWH South Cotabato 2nd DEO District Engineer Hadji Khalil D. Sultan, also completed was the Surallah-Lake Sebu Road leading to the biggest solar power plant in Mindanao in Barangay Centrala, Surallah.
“With the completion of these road projects amounting to P120.59 million, we expect a boost in the growing economy and promotion of South Cotabato’s culture and ecotourism,” District Engineer Sultan said.
