
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that construction of the Buluan-Banban-Puguin-Sacpil-Pinukpuk section of Abra-Kalinga-Apayao Road in the Municipality of Conner, Apayao is set for completion by the second quarter of 2020.
Citing a report from DPWH Apayao First District Engineer Alberto Gahid, Secretary Villar said that the construction of the Abra-Kalinga-Apayao Road Section is being fast tracked to improve mobility of the residents and tourists traversing the national road.
Started in 2019, the improvement of Abra-Kalinga-Road is implemented in three (3) contract packages funded under the 2019 Regular Infrastructure Program.
The construction of 3.3-kilometer, 2-lane concrete road under Contract Package 1 and 3 is set for completion on May 2020, with a total cost of 103.67-million; while the 19-lineal meter reinforced concrete deck girder bridge amounting to 17.94-million and implemented under Contract Package 2 is targeted for completion on April 2020.
“Aside from advancing connectivity, the improvement of this national road is necessary to maximize the potential of the province in agriculture and support our farmers,” said Secretary Villar.
