DPWH builds school at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas

An entire school compound with seven (7) units of 4-storey buildings was recently constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inside Philippine Air Force - Fernando Air Base (FAB) in Lipa City, Batangas. DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the mega project within a 2.20-hectare land inside FAB is composed of new buildings for Fernando Air Base Elementary School (FABES), Fernando Air Base National High School (FABNHS), and Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PHILSCA).

The project originated from a memorandum of agreement between PAF, Department of Education, and PHILSCA which allowed the relocation and construction of the new buildings inside FAB.

Implemented were the vP184.38 Million FABNHS projects covering four (4) units of 4-storey buildings with 20 class rooms each; P77.20 Million 4-storey PHILSCA Multipurpose Building with 21 classrooms and 10 miscellaneous rooms; two (2) units of 4-storey FABES buildings with 20 class rooms each costing P46.09 Million and P36.55 Million respectively; and P72.37 Million for the construction of multi-purpose facilities within the school compound.

These projects completed in July 2020 were implemented by DPWH Batangas Fourth District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Rody A. Angulo.
