
Bicol Region’s Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte has sworn-in 38 Civil Engineers (CEs) who were given coterminous positions with the Build, Build, Build Program of the government.
“This is the last batch of the 162 CEs hired to augment the existing staff of the Regional and District Engineering Offices (DEOs) in undertaking projects and activities in line with the infrastructure advocacies of our administration,” said RD Eduarte in a phone-patch media interview after the virtual oath-taking ceremony on September 9, 2020.
It will be recalled that a total 2,294 positions were created in DPWH nationwide to realize the conceptualized framework of the government towards the “Golden Age of Infrastructure” in the Philippines.
2,079 of the created positions were allotted for Civil Engineers, 16 Chemists and 199 Laboratory Technicians.
In Bicol, out of 162 CEs, 27 are for the Regional Office and 135 positions evenly distributed among the 15 District Engineering Offices or 9 for each DEO.
