The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently turned over a 54-bed capacity quarantine facility to Bislig, Surigao Del Sur.
Secretary Mark A. Villar, citing a report from Surigao Del Sur Second District Engineer Noel R. Oclarit said that the facility composed of three-unit building has been classified accordingly as per the Department of Health’s plan and specifications, with Building A as the staff house, kitchen and dining area; Building B for male patients; and Building C for female patients.
Secretary Villar as the Isolation Czar has pushed the speedy setting up of isolation/healthcare facilities nationwide as part of the Department’s contribution towards fighting COVID-19 pandemic.
“The facility will meet the demands for healthcare utilization and provide comfort and security for patients while on recovery from the COVID-19 virus”, said Secretary Villar.
The turned over health facility have 13 air-conditioning units, 16 closed circuit television components, one (1) cistern tank, five (5) solar LED street lights, four (4) flood lights and furnishings.
