A special meeting was called by DPWH Assistant Secretary Dimas S. Soguilon together with DPWH 6 Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao and Assistant Regional Director Lea N. Delfinado last May 5, 2014 at the Conference Room of DPWH Regional Office 6.
Present at the meeting are District Engineers, Assistant District Engineers, and Monitoring Engineers of various District Engineering Offices (DEOs) in Western Visayas.
Discussed at the meeting are the Financial Status Report of the Regional and District Engineering Offices including current Statement of Allotment, Obligation and Balances with Disbursements and TRA; Status of Advances to LGUs; and Physical Status of the On-going projects of every DEO as well as those projects that were not yet started.
Each Division Chief from the Regional Office was also given time to present their respective accomplishments as well as reminders on submission of requirements by the DPWH Central Office and other agencies.
During the meeting, Asec. Soguilon reminded the DEOs to fast-track the implementation of their projects. He also reminded them to be more cognizant in their requests for monthly obligation, so as to prevent lapses and reminded the Monitoring Engineers of the DEOs to be specific in the presentation of their reports for easier and more accurate consolidation in the Regional Office.
On the otherhand, Director Tayao instructed the DEOs to be more “hands-on” in the implementation and supervision of their respective projects.
Other matters for clarification and consensus were also discussed before the meeting ended.
