A total of 15 national road sections remain closed to traffic due to landslide, debris flow, and damaged bridge, caused by heavy rains of Tropical Storm ‘Maring’ and Tropical Depression ‘Nando’.
Based on the 8:00 AM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 monitoring report of the Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM), 11 of 15 affected sections are in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), two (2) in Region 1, one (1) in Region 2 and one (1) in Region 7.
In CAR, majority of road closures were due to landslide and soil collapse.
Closed roads in CAR are Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, K0269+400, Benguet; Abra-Ilocos Norte Road, K0434+956, Nagaparan, Danglas, Abra; Abra-Cervantes Road, Biweng Bridge at K0470+100 San Ramon, Manabo, Abra; Abra - Kalinga Road in K0463+500, Tumalip, K0465+700, K0466+500, K0467+500, K0468+250, Nalbuan, K0471+400, K0473+005, Subagan in Baay-Licuan, Abra and K0475+300, K0477+400, K0477+500, K0478+250, Poblacion, Malibcong, Abra; Apayao-Ilocos Norte Rd, 0657+400-K0657+450 and K0657+400-K0657+450 sections in Butao, Calanasan, Apayao; Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road K0701+500-0717+700 (intermittent Sections), Calansan, Apayao; Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road at K0298+380, Beling-belis, Kapangan, K0306+500, Sablang, Sagpat, Kibungan, K0308+500, Poblacion, K0322+950, Palina, K0330+750, Ta Bac, Kibungan, and K0349+300, Gakian, Gambang, Bakun; Cong. Andres Acop Cosalan Road, K0343+500, Amlimay Buguias; Abatan-Mankayan-Cervates Road K0346+800, Guinaoang, Mankayan, Benguet; Banaue-Mayoyao-Alfonso Lista-Isabela Boundary Road, K0384+550, Chuyung, Mayoyao, Ifugao; and Lubuagan-Batong Buhay-Abra Boundary Road, K0461+600-K0461+670, Puapo, Dangtalan, Pasil, Kalinga.
In Region 1, the Manila North Road Bayugao Bridge in Sta Cruz, Ilocos Sur and Luna - Bangar Road, K0305+000 - K0307+000 in La Union are still closed due to damaged bridge and flooding.
Also closed to all types of vehicles are the following road sections in Region 2 and 7: Cagayan Apayao Road, Itawes Bridge, K519+(-1044), Tuao, Cagayan and the Cebu-Toledo Wharf Road, K0023+700, Brgy. Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu.
Meanwhile, three (3) national road sections in La Union, Cagayan, and Batangas have limited access namely: Bacnotan- Luna- Balaoan Road, K0292+306- K0306+001, Poblacion Luna to Balaoan, La Union which is only passable to heavy vehicles due to flooding; Namayacan Bridge approach "B". K585 +122 along Dugo San Vicente Road which is only one-lane passable; and Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road, Sta.138+150 to 145+400 which is only passable to light vehicles.
