DPWH and COA held a groundbreaking ceremony on December 20, 2021 for the construction of a four-storey building with basement that will provide a comfortable working space for the State Auditors.

Spearheaded by COA officials, the ceremonial lowering of time capsule that marked the beginning of the building project scheduled for completion by 2024 was participated by DPWH Undersecretaries Roberto R. Bernardo and Emerson L. Benitez; Assistant Secretary Wilfredo Mallari; DPWH National Capital Region Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas; and Bureau of Construction Director Aristarco Doroy.

Project construction activities include the removal of COA’s Canteen and Commissary Building; site development; concrete structures and steel reinforcements; carpentry and joinery works; as well as installations of various systems including closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, public address system, grounding system, automatic fire sprinkler system, and air-conditioning system.

When completed, the new COA building is expected to have an average floor area of 4,111.69 square meters; three (3) sets of electric elevators for fast mobility and convenience of its employees; three (3) sets of elevated water tanks; four (4) floors of office facilities and spaces; a basement level; new function rooms and storage rooms; and a total of 206 parking slots.

DPWH has been and will always be committed in providing infrastructure-related technical assistance to other government agencies be it planning, designing, and even procuring activities.

With this new and modernized annex building, COA personnel will be able to continue their good work in a better and more comfortable workplace.
