DPWH Monitors 16 Road Closures as of 12 Noon Friday Due to Odette

A total of 16 national road sections in Central and Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga Regions are currently impassable due to fallen trees, flooding, soil collapse, landslide, road slip, damaged bridge, and vehicular accident brought by Typhoon Odette.

The Department of Public Works and Highways - Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH - BOM) reported that three (3) roads are closed in Visayas and thirteen (13) roads are closed in Mindanao.

The following are the affected roads in Bohol and Leyte: Jct (LIR) Buenavista-Carmen-Danao-Jetafe Road, in the town of Carmen; and the Tagbilaran East Road, in Poblacion, Alicia Town, both due to fallen trees; and Daang Maharlika in Brgy. Pinamono-an and Polahongon, Mahaplag Town, Leyte due to landslide.

In Bukidnon, several road sections of Jct. SH Aglayan - Alanib - Ticalaan Road (Aglayan - Basak) are closed, specifically in Brgy. Lirongan, Talakag Town due to soil collapse.

In Cagayan de Oro City, a Portion of Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro City-Iligan City in Brgy. Lapasan is closed due to flooding.

In Iligan City, the Sta. Felomina -Bonbonon - Digkilaan - Rogongon Road in Brgy. Digkilaan is not passable due to soil collapse.

In Gingoog City, the Gingoog - Claveria - Villanueva Road in Brgy. Samay is closed due to landslide.
In Claveria, Misamis Oriental, the Gingoog - Claveria – Villanueva Road in Brgy. Aposkahoy is also closed due to soil collapse.

In Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte, the affected section is Daang Maharlika (Surigao-Agusan Sect), in Brgy. Mabini due to fallen trees.

In Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, roads that are closed include: Butuan City-Malaybalay Road in Brgy. San Mateo due to landslide; Daang Maharlika (Surigao-Agusan Sect), in Brgy. De Oro due to soil collapse; Mayor Democrito D. Plaza II Ave in Brgy Mahay due to flooding; Pianing Br. Butuan City-Pianing-Tandag Road in Brgy. Pianing due to damaged bridge; and Butuan City-Pianing-Tandag Rd. in Brgy. Anticala due to slope collapse.

In Dinagat Islands, the affected road is Dinagat-Loreto Road in Barangay Mahayahay, San Jose Town due to road slip.

In Surigao del Sur, sections of Surigao-Davao Coastal Road in Brgy. Nurcia, Lanuza are closed due to fallen trees and vehicular accident.

Meanwhile, there are four (4) national roads with limited access, in Cagayan de Oro City, Dinagat Islands, Agusan del Norte, and Agusan del Sur.

In Cagayan de Oro City, the Corrales Extension St. – Port Road in Puntod is passable to heavy vehicles only due to flooding.

In Dinagat Island, Dinagat-Loreto Road sections in Diegas, (Basilisa) Rizal and Mahayahay, San Jose are passable to light vehicles only due to fallen trees.

In Agusan del Norte, the Daang Maharlika (Surigao-Agusan Sect) in Brgy. Poblacion, R.T. Romualdez is passable to only heavy vehicles only due to flooding.

Clearing operations are being undertaken by the DPWH Quick Response Teams in affected Regional and District Engineering Offices that have also installed warning signs barricades along affected road sections.
