DPWH Clears 18 Roads, 6 Roads Still Closed Due to Odette

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was able to reopen 18 national roads that were previously closed due to Typhoon Odette and only six (6) roads remain impassable to all types of vehicles.

As of 12:00 noon Saturday, December 18, 2021, only two (2) roads in Region 7, one (1) in Region 8, two (2) in Region 10, and one (1) in Region 13 are closed due to fallen trees, electric poles, debris, damaged spillway, landslide and road slip.

Roads that are to be cleared by the DPWH maintenance teams include: Jct (LIR) Buenavista- Carmen-Danao-Jetafe Rd, K0153+050 - K0153+060 in Carmen, Bohol and Tagbilaran East Road, K0156+400 -K0156+410 in Poblacion, Alicia, Bohol due to fallen trees; Abuyog-Silago Road, K0996+(-651)- K1011+931 in Southern Leyte due to fallen trees, electric poles, and debris; Misamis Oriental - Bukidnon - Agusan Road K1463+503 in Bukidnon due to damaged newly constructed spillway at Siloo Bridge; Gingoog - Claveria - Villanueva in Barangay Samay, Gingoog City due to landslide; and Dinagat-Loreto Road K0014+0800 to K0014+0900 in Mahayahay, San Jose, Dinagat Islands due to road slip.

Seven (7) roads also have limited access based on the latest report which include the Anini-Y - T. Fornier - Hamtic Road, K0075+(- 1009) - K0115+394 in Antique which is open to only light vehicles due to broken and leaning electrical posts; sections of Daang Maharlika, in Brgy. Pinamono- an and Polahongon, Mahaplag, Leyte which is passable to only light vehicles due to landslide; Jct. SH Impasug-ong - Patulangan By-Pass Rd, K1484+550 - K1484+555 in Bukidnon which passable to light vehicles only due to soil erosion; Dinagat-Loreto Road, K0033+0800 to K0033+0900, Diegas, (Basilisa) Rizal, Dinagat Islands which is passable to light vehicles only due to fallen trees; Pianing Br. Butuan City- Pianing-Tandag Rd. K1235+0380 to K1235+0395 in Brgy. Pianing, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte which is passable to light vehicles only due to damaged bridge; Butuan City-Pianing-Tandag Rd. K1245+0950 to K1246+0250 in Brgy. Anticala, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte which is passable to light vehicles only due to slope collapse; and Daang Maharlika (Agusan- Davao Sect), K1257+0150 to K1257+0300 in San Vicente, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur which is passable to heavy vehicles only due to flooding.

Estimated partial cost of damage to national roads, bridges, and flood-control structures has now reached P213.9 Million.
