Safer and more convenient travel awaits motorists and tourists traveling Zamboanga del Norte with the four (4) projects recently-completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the province.
Based on the report to Secretary Roger G. Mercado by Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia, completed projects include the construction of two (2) slope protection and two (2) road concreting projects aimed at improving road conditions and providing better access to residents.
The 66-meter slope protection with a 200-meter line canal along Sindangan-Liloy Road and the 40-meter slope protection project along Liloy-Siocon Road were completed to ensure road access even during heavy rains and to protect the concrete pavement from road slips, prolonging its service life.
The DPWH Zamboanga del Norte Second District Engineering Office also completed the concreting of roads in El Paraiso in the municipality of Liloy and in Limbonga in the municipality of Godod to provide better transportation of agricultural products in Zamboanga del Norte.
The 450-meter road project in Liloy and the 520-meter road in Godod involve excavation, concrete pavement, and installation of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, with total funding of P7.8-million and P9-million, respectively.
“DPWH is fast-tracking the completion of more infrastructure projects in Zamboanga Peninsula to improve travel experience for tourists and open more opportunities for residents,” said Director Dia.
