Southbound Lane of EDSA-Kamuning Flyover to Stay Closed for A Month-Long Repair

Tuesday, June 21, 2022

The Department of Public Works and Highways announces the extension to one-month closure of the southbound lane of EDSA-Kamuning Flyover in Quezon City for rehabilitation works starting Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Citing a report to DPWH National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas, Quezon City 2nd District Engineer Eduardo V. Santos said that the repairs spanning 30 meters, girder to girder and pier to pier, will cover a portion of deck slab of 2nd lane at southbound direction.

“We need at least 30 days to complete the major repair of the busy flyover as manual labor will be done. Also, concrete curing will be carried out for seven days,” said District Engineer Santos.

Portion of the southbound flyover was already closed to traffic last week for immediate repairs after a recent inspection showed sightings of large cracks and potholes.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience but the public’s safety is our priority here,” said Director Canlas.

Motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes such as the service road while the repair is ongoing.
