Three (3) new infrastructure projects have been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to provide better access to social services and economic activities in Zamboanga City.
Among them is the reconstruction of a 1.7-kilometer portion of the national road in Barangay Tictapul which was completed by the DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office.
Citing a report from DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the rehabilitation of Pagadian-Zamboanga City Road will support ecotourism and agribusiness in the city which will play significant role in our economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic.
Another completed project is the Task Force Zamboanga Building.
The 360.38-square meter military facility is built with an Administrative Office, Conference Hall, Commanding Officer’s Quarter, Multi-Purpose Hall, lobby, and a kitchen amounting to P9.7 million.
Uniformed personnel stationed at Camp Arturo Enrile in the Municipality of Malagutay are the recipient of the new administration office.
In addition to the above infrastructure projects, DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineer Ul-Arab A. Kong also reported the on-time completion of Sitio Centro to Sitio Tigui farm-to-market road in Barangay Limaong.
Implemented under the DPWH-Department of Agriculture (DA) convergence project, the P12-million project aims to reduce travel time and lessen transportation costs for farmers transporting their agricultural products.
