‘Florita’ Update: 7 Roads Still Closed as of 12 Noon, August 24

A total of seven (7) national road sections, six (6) in Cordillera Administrative Region and one (1) in Cagayan Valley Region, were reportedly-closed due to landslide, fallen trees, and flooding brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Florita.

In a 12 noon report Wednesday, August 24, 2022 by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Bureau of Maintenance, road sections in CAR closed to traffic are the following:

1) Claveria-Calanasan- Kabugao Road, K0717+500-K0717+570, Namaltugan, Calanasan, Apayao due to road cut and soil collapse;

2) Mt. Province - Ilocos Sur via Tue, K0387+450 Beto Section, Tue, Tadian, Mt. Province due to rock collapse;

3) Mt. Province - Ilocos Sur via Tue, K0387+450 Beto Section, Tue, Tadian, Mt. Province due to slope collapse;

4) Abra Kalinga Road K0470+500 and K0474+000 sections in Subagan, Baay- Licuan, K0480+900 and K0481+050 sections in Duldulao, Malibcong, Abra due to soil collapse;

5) Itogon-Dalupirip Road, K0265+100, Sitio Twin River, Poblacion, Itogon, Benguet due to soil collapse and fallen trees; and

6) Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road K0338+500 - K0338+550 in Ampusongan and K0349+100 - K0349+150, Gakian, Gambang, in Bakun, Benguet due to soil collapse.

The affected section in Region 2 is the Cabagan-Sta. Maria Road, Cabagan Overflow Bridge which is closed due to high water elevation.

Meanwhile, the motoring public are advised that about 20 roads have limited access due to slope/soil collapse and landslide. Roads that are currently only one-lane passable are the following:

*CAR*

1) Mt. Province - Ilocos Sur via Tue K0683+250 - K0683+270 and K0687+300 - K0687+315 sections in Naguilian, Calanasan, Apayao due to soil collapse;

2) Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, K0288+200 Ambuklao, Bokod, Benguet due to soil collapse;

3) Asin - Nangalisan - San Pascual – La Union Boundary Road, K0262+920 Sitio Lasong, Brgy.Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet due to rock fall with fallen trees;

4) Apayao - Ilocos Norte Road, K0623+600, Madatag, Kabugao, Apayao due to landslide;

5) Itogon - Dalupirip Road, K0267+950, Brgy. Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet due to soil collapse;

6) Cong. Andres Acop Cosalan Road, K0321+575, Sitio Batengan, Brgy. Adaoay, Kabayan, Benguet due to soil collapse;

7) Nueva Vizcaya - Ifugao - Mt. Province Boundary Road, several sections in Bolog, Kiangan; Cudog, Lagawe; Namulditan, Hingyon, Ifugao due to rock collapse;

8 ) Kiangan - Tinoc - Buguias Road, several sections in Poblacion and Julongan, Kiangan; Gumhang and Ap-apid, Tinoc, Ifugao due to soil collapse;

9) Banaue - Hungduan - Benguet Boundary Road a. K0378+400 and K0379+500, Abatan, Hungduan, Ifugao due to soil collapse;

10) Mt. Province - Calanan - Pinukpuk - Abbut Road (Cagaluan - Calanan Section), K0481+370 Bagumbayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga due to clogged drains with mud flow;

11) Mt. Province - Calanan - Pinukpuk - Abbut Road (Pinukpuk - Abbut Section) K0526+950 - K0526+970 and K0528+820 - K0528+835, Katabbogan, Pinukuk, Kalinga due to clogged drains with mud flow;

12) Balbalan-Pinukpuk Road, K0520+650 - K0520+660, Malagat, Pinukpuk, Kalinga due to rock collapse;

13) Tabuk - Banawe Road K0525+980 - K0526+995 and K0534+700 - K0534+715, Mabaca, Tanudan, Kalinga due to soil collapse;

14) Mt. Prov. Bdry. - Calanan - Pinukpuk - Abbut Road K0437+050, Ambato, Tinglayan and K0454+200, Manangol, Lubuagan, Kalinga due to soil collapse;

*Region 1*

1) Luna- Bangar Road K0304+715 - K0310+1018 in La Union is not passable to light vehicles due to flooding;

2) Santa Rancho Road, Calungbuyan Bridge in Ilocos Sur due to slight settle down of approaches and damaged embankment slope protection;

3) Tagudin - Cervantes Road, intermittent sections due to landslide;

4) Jct. Santiago-Banayoyo-Lidlidda-San Emilio- Quirino Road, intermittent sections due to landslide;

5) Cervantes-Aluling-Bontoc Road, K0387+950, Brgy. Aluling, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur due to damaged slope protection; and the

6) Jct. Candon - Salcedo - del Pillar Road a. K0362+600 and K0362+930 due to damaged pavement and landslide.

A total of 990 personnel with 117 equipment from DPWH CAR, Regions 1 and 2 have been deployed to ensure swift clearing and reopening of affected national roads and bridge.
