Residents and tourists travelling to the Zamboanga City proper are now benefitting from the new Bangayan Bridge constructed by the Department of Public Works (DPWH).

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the construction of the Bangayan parallel bridge along Zamboanga City-Labuan-Limpapa Road is crucial as it is one of the bridges linking the city to Zamboanga del Norte.

Implemented by DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office, the two (2) way Bangayan Bridge spanning 30 lineal meters now has a widened approach of 4-linear meters.

The P37-million project also involved road widening approach of 178-linear meters to accommodate the growing number of motorists traversing the national road.

“The completion of Bangayan Bridge has helped improve the mobility of goods and services between Zamboanga City and Zamboanga del Norte, aiding in the economic recovery of the province,” added Director Dia.
