Flood Control Structure Completed in Claveria, Cagayan

Lives and properties of the people of Claveria, Cagayan are now better protected from flooding with the recent completion of the Cabicungan Flood Control Facility by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 2 OIC Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the P20-Million project implemented by the DPWH through the Flood Management Program, funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2021 (GAA 2021) consists of a concrete revetment wall on steel sheet piles and hexapods as support.

“The completion of the 155-linear meter flood control facility and the construction of three (3) additional flood mitigation structures will safeguard residents from the effects of flooding during heavy rains,” added Secretary Bonoan.

The construction of this flood control structure was implemented by Cagayan Second District Engineering Office.
