More tourists are now able to conveniently-access various eco-tourism destinations in the town of Ocampo, Camarines Sur, with the recent completion of an access road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Tourism.
DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the completed project covers the construction of 2.1 kilometers of two-lane concrete road in Barangay Cagmanaba that leads to Ocampo Deer Farm in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Bamboo Farm in Hanawan, and Strawberry Fields in Pinit.
“The highland area of Ocampo, considered the “Little Baguio of Bicol”, has a lot of potential in tourism, offering visitors a wide-range of activities. By improving the access road, local and international tourists will be able to easily-drive around and experience what the town has to offer,” said Director Eduarte.
Implemented by the DPWH Camarines Sur 3rd District Engineering Office, the access road project in Ocampo was completed in the amount of P50 million, funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
