The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed maintenance works along Lanao-Pagadian-Zamboanga City Road in the municipality of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
According to DPWH Region IX Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the project involved the asphalt overlay of a 2.6-kilometer portion of the existing concrete road in Barangay Kauswagan.
“With the improved road, motorists now experience a safer and more convenient transport access to various establishments and government facilities in the province,” said Director Dia.
Director Dia added that the asphalt overlay is a cost-effective road repair to prolong the service life, resulting in smoother travel and reduced vehicle maintenance costs.
The P33.9-million project undertaken by DPWH Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Engineering Office also included reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings as safety features.
