
Maintenance crew and equipment of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are still working on 27 road sections closed to traffic due to Super Typhoon “Egay”.
Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan has instructed the Quick Response Team of DPWH offices with jurisdiction on typhoon-affected areas to work round-the-clock for the immediate restoration of connectivity so that necessary goods and government aid will reach the people.
Based on the 6AM July 28, 2023 report submitted to Secretary Bonoan by DPWH-Bureau of Maintenance (BOM), closed to traffic are 17 roads in CAR, eight (8) in Region I, one (1) in Region II (Cagayan Valley) and one (1) in Region IV-B.
CAR:
ABRA (due to soil collapse and fallen trees)

1. Abra-Ilocos Norte Road (Tertiary Road), K0422+898 – K0422 +903, Cabaroan, Danglas, Abra: one (1) lane passable to light vehicles due to collapsed pavement.
2. Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road (Tertiary Road), Hungduan, Ifugao: one (1) lane passable to light vehicles due to soil collapse (a. K0355+960 - K0355+985; b. K0380+500 - K0380+525)
3. Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road (Tertiary Road), K0313+450 - K0313+470, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet: one (1) lane passable to light vehicles due due to collapsed pavement.

7. Calapan South Road, K0182+278, Brgy. Campaasan, Bulalacao, Mindoro Oriental: passable to heavy vehicles only due to flooding
8. Apalit-Macabebe-Masantol Road, K0060+000-K0061+500 (intermittent section), Brgy. San Gabriel, Macabebe, Pampanga: not passable to light vehicles due to flooding.
