The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished working on the improvement of two (2) roads in the municipality of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
According to a report by DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, DPWH Zamboanga del Norte 3rd District Engineering Office has completed the widening of a 3-kilometer portion of the Sindangan-Liloy Road from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes.
The additional road space now caters to a bigger volume of vehicles, mitigating traffic congestion, accidents and other road problems.
“Local communities now experience a quicker, safer, and more comfortable travel along the national road,” said Director Dia.
Also completed is the portland cement concrete paving of a 942.9-linear meter road in Barangay Tapican.
With the concrete road, local farmers in the area can now better transport their agricultural products such as coconut to neighboring barangays and public markets.
The road widening and paving projects were implemented in the amount of P86.6 million and P15 million, respectively.
