9th DPWH Research Symposium Happening Oct. 20

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to hold on Friday, October 20, 2023, its 9th Research Symposium with theme: “Innovative and Resilient Infrastructure”.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) Director Reynaldo P. Faustino, said that this year’s event will highlight ten (10) research papers from the DPWH, academe, and private institutions, focusing on the latest road safety technologies, as well as innovations in construction materials.

The 9th DPWH Research Symposium which will be held from 8 am to 5 pm, at the UPAA Ang Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City, is expected to gather 300 attendees.

Presenters include experts from Maccaferri Philippines Inc.; TIPCO Asphalt Group/Phoenix Asphalt Philippines, Inc.; Geobrugg Philippines Inc./Rebtrade International Corporation; BAS Infrastructure, Inc.; and Omya International; DPWH Regional Office 10; and DPWH-BRS.

Two (2) research papers from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, and one (1) from the University of Santo Tomas/PGA-Earth Structure Solutions, Inc. will also be covered by the event.

The DPWH Research Symposium is an annual convention of research and development arsenals from different national government agencies, academe, private companies and institutions for the advancement of materials and construction technology for public infrastructure.
