The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has widened a section of the Roman Expressway to improve travel experience in the Municipality of Abucay, Bataan.
DPWH Regional Office Director 3 Roseller A. Tolentino said in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the DPWH Bataan First District Engineering Office (DEO) oversaw the widening of 524-linear-meter Abucay Section of Roman Expressway from two (2) to four (4) lanes.
Director Tolentino further said that the P19.6-million widening project was completed in October weeks ahead of schedule.
With the newly-widened portion of Roman Expressway, traffic flow and connectivity in Abucay town has been improved, reducing congestion and improving travel time along the secondary road.
Roman Expressway traverses about 10 towns of the Province of Bataan and accommodates almost all classes of vehicles from motorcycles to large trailer trucks on a daily basis, making it one of the busiest and most vital roads in Bataan, dotted with industrial zones, local businesses, and social establishments.
