The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new concrete road project benefitting coconut farmers in Lemery, Batangas.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Batangas First District Engineer Bencio A. Aguzar said that the recently completed 505-meter long farm-to-market road (FMR) project in Barangay San Isidro Ibaba provides a wide and accessible barangay road for easy transport of goods, especially coconut, from the source to the market.

Constructed in the amount of P14.6 million under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the 6.10-meter-wide road project can serve two-way traffic and includes embankment protection as a road safety feature.

The project, which also includes the construction of a grouted riprap and crib wall for slope protection benefitted vast coconut plantation in San Isidro Ibaba.
