
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a total of six (6) infrastructure projects focused on protecting the community and fostering social growth in the Province of Pangasinan.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region I Director Ronnel Tan said the completed projects implemented by the DPWH Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office include a flood control structure, road improvement and public buildings in the towns of Natividad Pozzorubio, Urdaneta City, and San Nicolas.
Completed in Natividad is a 595-meter flood-control structure along the Viray River in Barangay Batchelor East. The project was built in the amount of P33.6 million.
Asphalt Overlay projects were also implemented along a 1.9-kilometer portion of Barangay Anonas Road and a 1.3-kilometer section through Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City and Barangay Bononan, Pozzorubio.
Three (3) multi-purpose buildings were likewise completed in the amount of P10.7 million in San Nicolas, Pangasinan specifically in San Jose Elementary School, San Rafael Elementary School, and Sta. Maria National High School which now provides an enhanced educational experience for students. The completed buildings can be transformed into educational or communal hubs, for holding various affairs for students and residents alike.
Funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), these completed projects are in line with DPWH’s unwavering commitment to bring substantial economic benefits, safeguard communities against natural disasters, and improve public school facilities.
