The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently paved another 3.7-kilometer segment of the diversion road project in Isabela, which now offers a more accessible and efficient transportation route from Cauayan City to the municipality of Cabatuan.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan reported that the newly constructed two-lane paved road is a continuation of the network development program which now covers Barangay Pinoma, Barangay Nagrumboan, and Barangay Nungnungan 1.
“This diversion road's strategic location encourages a smoother traffic flow and makes it easier to enter Cabatuan from Cauayan City,” said Secretary Bonoan.
The newly opened portion of the Cauayan City-Cabatuan Diversion Road, funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), was completed in the amount of P61.7 million.
“The DPWH remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing infrastructure development not just within Metro Manila, but more so outside, ensuring that the country’s national road networks are efficient and safe, and promoting inclusive progress,” added Secretary Bonoan.
