The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a project that now aids the residents of Barangay San Isidro, Bulan, Sorsogon from widespread flooding.
DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that a 590.9-meter dike was built for the protection of San Isidro residents who have long suffered during adverse weather conditions, as their area serves as a catch basin of run-off waters from surrounding mountains
The DPWH Regional Office 5 implemented the construction of the dike in just four (4) months, which is five (5) months ahead of schedule.
“The completed dike project with channel excavation now addresses the flooding woes of communities, especially those residing beside rivers,” added Director Eduarte.
The construction of a dike project in Barangay San Isidro was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
