Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan on Thursday, April 18, 2024 welcomed the results of the latest Tugon ng Masa Survey by OCTA Research, which ranked the Department fifth (5th) among the top performing government agencies for the first quarter of 2024.

Based on the face-to-face survey conducted by OCTA Research from March 11 to 14, 2024, DPWH bagged 5th place on Trust Rating with 71 percent score. This rating is derived from the agency’s 58 percent trust rating in NCR, 67 percent in Balance Luzon, 71 percent in Visayas, and 85 percent in Mindanao.

On Performance Rating, the DPWH is also ranked 5th with 72 percent, which comes from 59 percent satisfied rating in NCR, 68 percent in Balance Luzon, 79 percent in Visayas, and 80 percent in Mindanao.

“This is an encouraging result that measures the public sentiment of our Department. It is a reflection of the steadfast efforts, commitment, determination, and dedication of every DPWH official and personnel,” said Secretary Bonoan.

“To the DPWH family, I extend my sincerest gratitude for your hard work. To the public, we promise to maintain this level of excellence and trust, as we carry with us the vision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ Bagong Pilipinas,” added Secretary Bonoan.

The DPWH takes pride in the continuity of public confidence, receiving a high trust rating in the past two (2) years. It underscores the public's growing trust and satisfaction in the DPWH’s capacity to enhance the country's infrastructure and improve the people’s quality of life.

Despite facing operational and budgetary challenges at the beginning of the year, the Department has surpassed expectations, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to its mandate.

OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa Survey is an independent, non-partisan, non-commissioned poll which aims to gauge Trust and Performance Ratings of 22 selected government agencies.

The survey is conducted using face-to-face interviews to 1,200 male and female respondents aged 18 and above.
