The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has transformed an old dusty limestone road into an all-weather concrete cement pavement to better provide residents, farmers, and other road users a safer access route in Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

Traversing Sitio Kiuntod in Barangay Camp I, Maramag, to Barangay Pinamaloy in Don Carlos, Bukidnon, the 1.76-lane kilometer road now serves in the delivery of agricultural products and mobility of locals in the area.

DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida T. Tan mentioned in her report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the completion of the road project greatly benefitted locals, especially students and working individuals who commute daily to the neighboring Barangays of Minsalagan, Manlamonay, and Kibatang.

Aside from the construction of 6.7 meters-wide carriageway made of portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP), the P29.4-million project also covers the provision of slope protection structures, reinforced concrete-lined canal, cross drainage, and installation of pipe end structures that help reduce the risks of flood-related damages.

Implemented by DPWH Bukidnon 2nd District Engineering Office, the paved access road is seen to open more doors for development in agriculture, education, and transportation, which soon would foster livelihood opportunities and boost economic activities in the area.
