The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is presently working on rehabilitating the deteriorated portion of the Concepcion – La Paz Road in Tarlac to ensure fast and safe travel in the province.
DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the reconstruction of damaged 608-meter section of Concepcion – La Paz Road in Barangay Paludpud, La Paz is ongoing.
According to Director Tolentino, the upgrading of the six (6)-lane road in the amount of 48.46 million is a necessary undertaking by the DPWH Tarlac Second District Engineering Office (DEO) in providing convenient travel experience to residents and motorists passing through the route.
Targeted for completion in June 2024, workers are fast-tracking road works with accomplishment rate reaching 46 percent, which is eight (8) percent higher than the target set by DPWH Tarlac Second DEO for the month of April.
“We are taking advantage of sunny days to provide a road network that will cater to all road users here in Tarlac,” said Director Tolentino.
Earlier this year, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan during the Bagong Pilipinas Kick-Off Rally declared that continuous road construction and maintenance is among the top priorities of the Department in response to the directive of no less than President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to improve accessibility throughout the country.
