The 3.58-kilometerTumauini Bypass Road Project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has brought significant impact to daily traffic in the town proper of Tumauini, Isabela Province a year since completion.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region II Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, said that since its opening last year, motorists have reportedly benefitted from the faster route, while facilitating lighter traffic movement along Daang Maharlika.
“By providing an alternate route for vehicles, we have reduced traffic congestion within the town, enhanced road safety, and streamlined travel between Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and Ilagan City, Isabela,” added Director Alconcel.
Tumauini Bypass Road currently serves as a 4-lane alternate route that bypasses the town’s commercial center, with entry and exit points at Barangay Maligaya and San Mateo, Tumauini, Isabela.
Implemented by the DPWH Regional Office 2, Tumauini Bypass Road was completed in the amount of P332.5 million, funded under the 2018-2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
