The Department of Public Works and Highways recently completed the construction of P72.3 million multi-purpose facilities at Lipa City Community Park, in an effort to revive its status as one (1) of the most beloved community spaces in Lipa City, Batangas.
DPWH Region 4A Director Jovel G. Mendoza reported to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the revitalized Lipa City Community Park is now ready to welcome visitors and serve as a hub for recreation and community activities.
Key features of the project include the construction of a local government-facilitated coffee shop and food kiosks, a detention tank to mitigate flooding, additional public toilets and gazebos, a 50-meter by 25-meter Olympic-size pool with a water pump system, and the reintegration of a mini football field with durable synthetic grass.
The restoration efforts also include the upgrading of driveways and walkways using a stamped concrete system and the refurbishing of landscaped areas.
The rehabilitation of Lipa City Community Park was implemented under the Convergence and Special Support Program for Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG), with funding sourced from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
