As of 12:00 noon Monday, July 22, 2024, one (1) national road section in Zamboanga City is closed to traffic while one (1) road in the Cordillera Administrative Region is limited to light vehicles only due to landslide and rockfall brought by southwest monsoon and severe Tropical Storm Carina.
The DPWH Bureau of Maintenance identified the impassable road as the Zamboanga City Bypass Road, Barangay Malagutay Section which was closed due to landslides.
The DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office Quick Response Team has installed warning signs and barricades and has commenced clearing operation on the affected road section.
Meanwhile, DPWH will also conduct clearing operation along Kennon Road, specifically section S00393LZ K0217+380 in Sitio Klondykes, Camp 1, Tuba, Benguet which is only accessible to light vehicles due to rockfall.
